Check out map for Archer Ave Car Show, Friday, June 21st from 6-9pm.
Co-hosted by the Garfield Ridge Neighborhood Watch and Midway Chamber of Commerce.
The Archer Car Show starts at Oak Park and ends at Narragansett. There will be a soft close from Oak Park to Normandy... followed by a hard close from Normandy to Neenah. Finally, a soft close from Neenah to Narragansett.
Food trucks will be from Normandy to Natoma (the south side of the street).
Here's the difference between a hard and soft close:
Hard close: no vehicle movement whatsoever between Neenah and Normandy from 5:45-9pm
Soft close: Limited traffic will be allowed by CPD between Narragansett and Neenah as well as Oak Park-Normandy
Overall, the purpose of soft and hard closes is for pedestrian safety and has been agreed upon by the hosts and the Chicago Police Department.
That said, classic cars participating must be parked by 5:45pm (there will be no exceptions). Parking is available at Jiffy Lube, Ridge Funeral Home, 7/11, Archer Heights Credit Union, Loyola Medical Center, and Cheesies.
Parallel parking for classics will be allowed on Archer Avenue between the closure barricades.
